Jill Taffet, Abiogenesis, 2015, HD Video, Code, Kinect, Harvestworks, NYC
Abiogenesis is a interactive video installation that uses camera tracking to trigger the movement of animation elements and sounds. Each viewer is assigned a unique animation that follows their movements around the piece as they trigger different animations in different zones. It is inspired by the theory that life can spring from non-living matter. It was supported by Harvestworks New Works Program.

Abiogenesis is the process by which life arises naturally from non-living matter. In this work primordial shapes arise from nothingness, morphing and growing as they move.
